 There's a lot of discussion about the practicality, success, sustainability and morality of this, but the event exists and for quite a number of people it has become an important part of their yearly income.
+The last yearly hunt has been quite rocky: in an attempt to control the population of giant mosquitoes around the lake, the army authorized the use of heavy-duty pesticides but did not coordinate with the population centers downstream and at least half a dozen people were affected by the poisoned water, not to mention what it can have done to crops being grown in that area.
