Maelle Kurimoto is a physicist that works with [[org:green_bell|Green Bell]] both helping victims of the [[thing:zone|Zones]] and trying to discover the truth behind them.

Born Anémone Valois in the inter-war years to a rich and old family in [[place:valtshora|Valtshora]]; she was curious, rebellious, and in general a weird kid, but as an AFAB person, her parents intended her to be a pretty well-behaved thing that would allow them to bring more power and influence to the family. She was enrolled in a pretty strict private school where she got into trouble for asking the wrong questions, and punished often. used to spend a lot of time hiding and studying in the quiet.

During the [[event:Second Great War]], things become a lot darker and she had to step up her lying and hiding skills to keep herself safe. This only became harder because she came to care of a romani kid she found hiding from the Blackcaps.  She kept quiet as she watched students disappear from class, and stayed strong and faked being loyal to the current regime while despising them. She managed to hide the kid until he was reunited with their family.

She was witness to the [[place:nuskom#bombing|Bombing of Nuskom]] and could have been one of its victims. As the front closed, her
parents choose to escape, and she was able to see the gigantic cloud formed by the  bomb from afar.  They
managed to escape to [[place:Mesogeia]] and she managed to argue and fight her way to attend college via scolarship. At college she both gets to learn enormous amounts of juicy science and make contact with some like-minded people who are *not* happy with the way [[place:Rigasia]] is handling the post-war years.

Despite her success at university, she refuses to deal with the kind of assholes that handle the western scientific world, and will never allow her to succeed as a woman, so she leaves and joins the [[org:Green Bell]]. Here she gets the chance to actually investigate some aberrant phenomena behind the backs of the Rigasian confederacy. This is where she meets [[npk:yumiko_kurimoto|Yumiko Kurimoto]], a Nihonic woman in her 60s, she takes the surname Kurimoto to share with her, thus cutting ties with her past for good.

During her years of humanitarian work and secret investigations, she cooperated with other rogue investigators into making an interesting discovery: there are aberrant humans, who have come to depend on something around the [[thing:zone|Zones]] to have a healthy life. And she is one of them.

Sadly, the Rigasian scientific community buried [[thing:leiphof_paper|that paper]] so deep you need to dig to find it.
