Dr. Orestes O. Orsted is a [[place:mus|musian]] physicist currently working for the [[place:rigasia|Rigasian Confederacy]] who was key to their creation of the technology that stabilizes [[thing:portal|portals]] to travel to alternate timelines.

Orsted worked originally for the [[place:mus|Mus]] Hegemony trying to replicate the technology that would eventually allow Rigasia to create the [[thing:bomb|Bomb]]. After the war ended, he was quietly recruited by the winners to work on their side instead.

Orsted is one of the big names of the Rigasian scientific community who talked against the [[thing:leiphof_paper|Leiphof Paper]], dedicating a considerable amount of time and political capital to bury it as deep as possible.
