Funny thing, it’s technically called the Π bomb (Π stands for πυρο, meaning pyro or portal. because it’s ripping the universe a new one)

The effects of the bomb are an even bigger issue than what nuclear weapons have; an area affected by this one doesn't seem to get better with time, even slowly; instead it gets worse. All test sites and war targets have been made into [[thing:zone|restricted areas]].

On the other hand, there are potential peaceful applications of the technology: in particular, [[place:rigasia|Rigasia]] can harness the power of the [[thing:p_cell|Π Cell]], that they insist does not have the issues the bomb does.
