It's not clear if it's the Zone influence or related to Gaia's Gift but apparently there is such thing as a squirrel mafia around Nuskom
Around the area resources are scarce, and squirrels seem to have formed factions to both gather resources and scare away the other factions more easily.
Across all of the factions there was one that really started to get power. Led by Bretty Walnut, the Walnut faction was the most important of all, they had acorns, walnuts, and even nutella.
But one day another faction arose, with the Red Squirrel as their leader promising unlimited acorns for everyone, quickly gaining a lot of popularity.
Brittany could not accept that and declared war on the Red Squirrel but was not very successful. One day she called her best spy Amanda, after long talks they decided to use her friend Gaia Dynko to win the war in exchange for making Amanda the leader of the Walnut spy agency.
Gaia was very enthusiastic about the mission, without much context she went with an elite squirrel division on a series of missions and elminiated the Red squirrel and becoming the leading faction once again.
The Red Squirrel is now in Pole Land's trophy box and guerrila warfare from remaining squirrels loyal to him lasts to this day.
