This session was played on 2025-08-17. The entirety of the Nuskom region finds itself in high alert because of a new portal event, then discover it is an invasion from Kesizma. Clark, Gaia and Maelle find themselves bouncing from one side of the battles to another trying to keep ahead of everything.
Half a week after the last session, everyone in Zwosta is woken up by the Sound.
Maelle finds herself having a small panic attack at experiencing that outside the zone and spends some time hugging it out with Yumiko, Clark beelines to the Guildhouse, and Gaia finds herself in the middle of the Hunter Guild already trying to determine what has happened and what to do.
As they move along they discover that the sound has been heard in an enormous circle centered in the Zone that includes Zwosta. Maelle also finds herself experiences the full extent of her emotions as if she was inside the Zone; this keeps happening for the rest of the session.
Both the Green Bell and the Hunter Guild are contacted by the Rigasian Army to provide personnel to an investigation they are conducting in the Hunt Staging Ground. Maelle reaches the place first to learn that the army has dispatched two teams and both have been lost.
In route to the staging ground, Gaia, Clark and Ferret discover that the regular aberrations from the Zone are running away in fear of previously unseen creatures: wolves the size of cars. They find that they are basically immune to conventional firearms, can outrun a small truck, and they can be understood by Gaia in the same way that the squirrel gangs.
In the staging ground, Maelle does some measurements and finds that the reality variance usually associated with the zones has become a complicated but stable repeating pulse, making every scientist and technician on site very confused.
Reaching the staging ground, the party doesn't have too much time to set things up before the base is attacked by several packs of giant wolves. Both infantry and hunters prove to be useless against them, so the rigasian army deploys light tanks, that seem to be on a level ground with the creatures.
During the resulting fight, Clark is nearly run over by one of the tanks but is somehow saved by a version of Mariette who seems to be time jumping and tells him to go to the Deep Zone to stop this and save at least one version of Zwosta.
Ferret leads Clark, Gaia, Maelle and several other surviving hunters back to Zwosta but the car being driven by Gaia crashes into the leg of an elephant the size of a small building, injuring Ferret seriously. Before they are crushed, Gaia manages to convince the elephant that they are not rigasians but valtshorans.
The elephant and several wolves accept the hunter's surrender and take them to “their anagusi” who have set up camp in the center of the Zone, where they entered the rigasian timeline. In the way, they talk and learn the story of how Umichoo broke the world.
In the deep Zone, they find a whole encampment of anagusi people, just like Maal, who are keeping a gigantic Gate open in the center of the ruins of Nuskom, and talk to one of their leaders, proposing an alliance against the rigasian occupation. The conversation is interrupted by a rigasian attack, this time with heavy tanks powered by π cells.
They try to retreat closer to the portal to the medical tents where they are healing Ferret, but are interrupted first by Rose, who was understandably confused about the situation and believed the party to be held prisoners, and then by an actual rigasian heavy tank. Clark takes the glove from Gaia (accepting it for the first time) and manages to freeze the tank to almost the core, but finds that there's something in it (supposedly the π cell) that can't be frozen.
They retreat further closer to the portal trying to escape to Kesizma, but as they escape, a new portal opens in the sky, this one a lot more noisy, from which a rigasian plane comes and starts bombing the anagusi that kept their portal open. The gate loses cohesion and all the region is flooded by flowing mirror.
Rose wore a balaclava.
This is the first session in Clockmaker to not include Iorena Sevel in the cast. It will be some time before we see her again.
On the other hand, we had every player character appear character for the arc finale, even if it was just a cameo.
Fun fact: the local word for “nuked” would actually be “pied” because it is not nuclear, it's portal-based.
