Great Dream
The Great Dream is a timeline and universe-spanning virtual world that can be accessed by any sentient being.
The ability to connect to the Great Dream and use it in one way or another is usually called dreamwalking or dreamweaving.
What Does It Do?
It might be some kind of afterlife. One version of Ariyadna says that people's memories linger in the Great Dream and a person can be more fully realized there if you know how.
In this context, Antonio Vargas experienced the Great Dream as an idealized version of his childhood home, and his childhood pet pig Rosa welcomed him to it.
The Great Dream can also be used to manifest memories in the real world, indistinguishable from real objects, at least for a while. Gaia Dynko has materialized the memories of Victor Vituska, the six rigasian soldiers dead during the hunt for Maal, and a plate of supernaturally delicious cookies.
The Great Dream can be used to communicate with other people regardless of where they are: Oleia used this to great effect to coordinate the defense of Kesizma on the face of a Rigasian invasion.
This might not be limited to the present, since both Clark Dubois and Gaia Dynko have managed to contact a future version of Riung.
How Does It Work?
Amanda insists the Great Dream is connected through the Sun. For a while, people were very confused about this.
Humans in the corner of reality we are dealing with seem to agree that the Great Dream was created by an exceedingly old intelligence they call the Giver of Shapes, and it works by connecting minds together through hubs spanning the coronas of most stars; the inteligences handling this are referred to as Dream Queens.
