Session 11
This session was played on 06/09/2025. Clark, Gaia and Maelle have a chat with the local authorities in their current timeline, but mostly handle a lot of personal crises.
Plot
The day after the previous session Clark, Gaia and Maelle wake up at dawn slightly more ready to face whatever it comes (but still quite bummed out) and have a breakfast of rigasian military rations, where gaia tries to eat the instant coffee and instead spits it getting wet brownish powder everywhere.
Gaia then prows through the fort attempting to find Ariyadna and bothering some of the infantrymen, who end calling up a servant woman to deal with her. In the meanwhile, Ariyadna herself comes to Clark and Maelle and tells them that their presence has been requested at a local court to testify about the events of the Rigasia/Kesizma War.
The full party joins a small cavalry unit alongside Ariyadna and the Anagusi survivor and ride to the local capital, where they met the local court and explain the situation. During their testimony, Maelle has a borderline breakdown, triggered by the insistence of several people to call Valtshorans “Rigasian slaves” and the court is adjourned so they can have a bit of a breath.
Maelle ropes Ariyadna into getting herself some alcohol so she can cope with the bullshit, and discovers to her horror that the locals seem to have a good selection of beers but no wines. She ends chugging a good amount, then wanders off while Gaia is trying to drink a bit of it even though it tastes horrible to her.
Clark finds Derek in the palace gardens and tries to communicate with it by drawing in the sand. This ends being actually successful, but the questions Clark had in mind (about the Temple) are not ones that Derek has the answers for. It suggest Clark to ask Amanda instead.
Ariyadna finds a drunk and crying Maelle, failing to deal with the full bullshit of the last days while feeling the full weight of her emotions. Maelle calls herself a monster for her actions during the hunt for Maal and a deviant for her gender identity. Ariyadna brushes off the former and takes quite a while to understand the latter. She doesn't seem to mind that, but she does mind when Maelle drunkenly waves her sword around, and she forces Maelle to sweat *all* the alcohol she had drunk, gathering it into a ball in her hands.
Clark goes to Gaia and Amanda and tries to ask Amanda about the Temple. Amanda seems to imply that the temple is inside Clark himself and that he should access it by dreaming. She also insists that dreams become one in the Sun.
Gaia then tells Clark that they should ask “bigger Amanda” by using the glove, and they do so, getting a little more detail. AMANDA also tells Gaia that she should be able to communicate with her freely if she learns dreaming and masters herself in the Oldest Weave.
Ariyadna then brings a hungover Maelle to join Clark for dinner, and Maelle decides to come out as non-gendered to Clark. He takes it a lot better than they were expecting.
An idle comment of Ariyadna then reveals to them that she is able to feel individual molecular compounds and their atomic structure, as well as modifying them on the fly. She proves this by creating some droplets of sodium hypoclorite from plain rock salt and “sparky air”.

Quotes
- Let's get an attitude check for the characters. How is Gaia after sleeping?
- Good, she slept [the existential dread] out.
- Clark is pretty weirded out and unomfortable with its last change.
- Maelle is kind of tired…
- Want to elaborate?
- She's remembering thoughts from last night, feeling upset, forcing back tears to appear stronger considering, y'know. Oldest. The wisest…
- The breakfast part of the rations you have consists mostly of dry bread in the form of crackers, a bit of spread, and some powder that can be made into a drink. you think it's instant coffee.
- Gaia eats the powder.
- Ariyadna: What the fuck is a tea? Or a coffee, for that matter.
- Maelle: It's like… tea is… it's good. Very good drink.
- Clark: Just some leaf infusion.
- Ariyadna: This is all very… interesting and now I have an idea of why the Ree'gasians think that making a fuck-huge spider out of strengthened iron is a good idea. Your world must be swimming in the stuff.
- Clark: Some thing called industrialization happened, and now we have a lot of metal everywhere.
- Ariyadna: Okay, so industrialization is when you found a lot of iron. I see. Not what I was talking about!
- Clark: What's a ton-tigi thing?
- Ariyadna: They are dudes with horses that basically own the land?
- Clark: Ahh the landlord.
- Maelle: You think someone could be, uh… not the kind of… gender? I guess? you were born as? Like a woman could be a man in the future… or even something else?
- Gaia: Do you mean like how Clark looks like a woman now more?
- Clark: I don't know what you mean. Nothing like that is happening. Now please focus on what's matter.
- Gaia: (to Ariyadna) Why are you circles?
- Ariyadna: (with a beer in hand, to Gaia) Want some?
- Maelle: D—don't give her beer
- Gaia: I'm a child???
- Ariyadna: Is this some religious stuff? Pretty sure you're a woman already. Young, sure, but child?
- Gaia: You're like a far sister of rats!
- Amanda: Rude.
- Amanda: Just because the sun hides doesn't mean it's not there. It's always there. Don't humans understand that?
- Ariyadna: Will you need me to rip the booze out of your body? I usually can do that without too much harm, but it will feel weird.
- Maelle: I'm a monster.
- Ariyadna: Ohh, nice. How many people have you eaten? Were they alive when you did that? Did you eat them in front of their families?
- Maelle: I got a bit of blood in my mouth when killing someone once. Such a fucking asshole I was killing them. They had a family!
- Ariyadna: Yea, most people have one. Except for the weird ones that were grown on vats or made of dreamstuff.
- Maelle: Fucking third gender.
- Ariyadna: The fuck is a gender, woman?
- Maelle: You're so nice (falls asleep).
- Ariyadna: Bitch you have no idea of who I am. I'm not nice… And she fell asleep. Well, better than drunk with a sword.
- Gaia: If you want I can ask the big Amanda your questions.
- Clark: No, it's alright; I fear there's nothing else Amanda would tell me.
- Gaia: No, no. You see, It's another Amanda. Like maybe the same but different. She knows a lot.
- AMANDA: THE TEMPLE IS THE DREAM WHERE THE FROST-CHILD FIRST MET ITSELF AND STARTED THE PROCESS OF BECOMING. IT IS NOT A PLACE BUT A MEMORY HALF FORGOTTEN, KEPT ALIVE IN A MIND STRUGGLING TO FIND ITSELF THROUGH THE OLDEST WEAVE.
- Gaia: So like… from what I understood, it's like you. But like future you? Memory half-forgotten. So you met you from future? Oh, yeah, she also mentioned something about a dream.
- Clark: I'm pretty sure I was alone in there. And not a building.
- Maelle: Thing about… gender shit. Uh… I'm not really a 'woman' per sé. Just kinda trust you and wanted to mention I guess?
- Clark: I… what are you then?
- Maelle: Eh… no fucking idea. Don't feel like anything I guess. Just… nothing. Not sure if I should even say this shit but, eh. Gotta take a risk.
- Clark: One time, in the village I was born, there was a baby that was born weird between the legs…Is it something like that? I don't really understand.
- Ariyadna: As Queen-Witch in Exile of Talos, I decree you shall from now on be referred to as a sword.
- Ariyadna: You know the water you brought from outside is slightly poisonous? […] It's like you got rock salt mixed with sparky air.
- Clark: Sickness is caused by tiny demons?
- Maelle: Yep.
- Ariyadna: They're small but can be poisoned. Problem is, most of the poisons will kill you too, so you have to find how much poison kills them but not you.
Trivia
Rose had some important issues about a broken backup system.
Ariyadna is quite weirded about the concept of one-use cans that she calls “Umichooan bullshit”.
Maelle is now out to Clark and Ariyadna, making her the first explicitly nonbinary human character to appear in the game.
The intersex child that Clark mentioned seeing in Laville was abandoned to die in the forests, where Clark found their corpse.
Ariyadna can feel and manipulate the composition of molecular compounds but she has at most a fragmentary knowledge of medieval alchemy to make sense of it.
During downtime, Gaia kept talking to Dream Amanda, and confirmed that she does not know how Victor Vituska stole gifts, which led her to deduce that he had some kind of contact with Umichoo.
