Session 6

This session was played on 2025-08-10. Gaia and Clark are kidnapped by Victor Vituska, in search of revenge and eventually rescued by Maelle and Iorena.

Plot

Having managed to steal Zach Shpak's body from the rigasian army, Maelle and Iorena discuss where to send it so a cure can be found for him; they end deciding on Zhongguo, and the mission is given to Ferret and Stray Pyotr.

Despite the amount of work that Kort's audits are generating for her, Iorena finds some time to help Gaia learn more about her gift and how it is changed by the Glove. Iorena is understandably scared because Gaia keeps ignoring safety measures and loses almost a full night of time asking three questions to AMANDA.

Too wired to sleep Gaia tries do take a walk and is kidnapped by the men that Amanda has been warning her about during the last week.

Clark is approached by three gangsters who show him a photo of a tied-up Gaia and tell him that he's to go unarmed to a specific address and follow instructions to the letter without contacting neither the authorities or Iorena.

Clark attempts to skirt around the instructions by contacting Ferret and leaving a coded message for Iorena, then goes to the given address, that is actually a very expensive house belonging to a media mogul by the name of Antoine Motyl. In there, he's trapped in a room and put to sleep by a gas grenade.

Maelle's lunch is interrupted by the news that someone set fire to the Hunter's Guildhouse. Out of worry for both the Body Heist and the fire, she goes there, then cooperates with Pyotr to save Ferret, who had been left hurt and unconscious in a burning room.

Gaia wakes up to find herself in the presence of Vituska who is even creepier than he used to be and mentions that even if he's not into hurting girls (unless they are deviants) he promised Clark he would kill Gaia if he didn't obey his instructions.

Clark also wakes up, but has been drugged with something else that makes him unable to focus, preventing him from using his gift. Vituska gloats about the way he's going to kill him and take his gift for himself, but Clark is too high to take the threats seriously and this makes Vituska spitting mad, so he injects more of whatever Clark had in his veins already.

Maelle discovers that Ferret had been grasping one sheet of paper when he was attacked, the one written by Clark, and manages to decypher the message.

Gaia is unable to free herself, but apparently one of the gangsters is actually not into hurting teenagers, so he lets her go. She is escaping the house when she finds Vituska and Motyl coming in and having a conversation and discussing what they are going to do to Clark, so she instead sends Amanda to safeguard the glove and infiltrates the house.

Now higher then an atmospheric probe, Clark manages somehow to astral project and finds himself having a conversation with Riung several decades into the future, who explains some things that might not be relevant as of yet. When Clark asks Riung if she can help him, she tells him that she's making an adjustment.

In the Hunter Guildhouse, Maelle is suddenly interrupted by the arrival of Iorena, who is suddenly free because the second inquiry she had to participate on today has been cancelled. When she learns of the fire and the attack on Ferret, she identifies Vituska, and starts planning an assault.

As Vituska is getting a couple of men moving Clark's body downstairs, they hear gunshots. Vituska sends the men back upstairs, and goes to look out of the window. Gaia drops the heavy drapes on him and manages to disarm him, but then fails to hit him with the sword, instead getting it stuck on the wall. She escapes downstairs, and Vituska pursues.

Clark wakes up, now with his head clear, and proceeds to freeze the hands of both gangsters that were grabbing him, then steals one of their guns and goes back downstairs.

Iorena and Maelle enter the house and face Vituska on the staircase as Gaia sneaks out. They have a sword (and long knife) fight, two against one, and when Vituska feels threatened attempts to use his stolen gift to shred Iorena right next to him, but he also manages to shred his own face. He tries to run but he's killed by Maelle's sword, a shot from Clark, and two more shots from hunters brought by Gaia.

Later in the Hospital, while Iorena is being operated on, Kort comes in to give them a set of very backhanded compliments.

Cast

Quotes

  • …there's a thrilling tale of insanity where Ferret and Pyotr managed to move the body and evaded the valtshoran police.
  • Gaia: Amanda are you gifted?
  • Amanda responds by nuzzling you.
  • Gaia: (Giving Amanda an acorn) Here's a gift; you're gifted now.
  • Iorena: One question; this is non-negotiable.
  • Gaia: Can I at least ask her if I can ask more questions before the main question?
  • Iorena: No.
  • Gaia: Amanda, are you a gifted psychic?
  • AMANDA: I DO NOT HAVE THE BLOOD OF THE WORLDBREAKERS, LITTLE ONE; BUT THERE IS MORE THAN ONE PATH TO PERCEIVE WHAT I AM.
  • Gaia: Ok, so who are you?
  • AMANDA: I AM YOUR PERCEPTION OF THE WORLD, GIVEN SHAPE IN THE OLDEST WEAVE.
  • Cliched Gangster: You the Dubois kid?
  • Clark: Do I look like a kid?
  • Cliched Gangster: Yea, you do. Young pretty thing.
  • Maelle is on her lunch breack, and congratulating herself in a job well done; she managed to get one over the fucking rigasians! And she pulled a heist. Without murder!
  • If her head keeps going back to the dead soldiers, she keeps telling herself that it was not that bad. They clearly deserved it, no? But also what of the families. What if they were drafted…
  • And then there's a conmotion because a Green Bell coworker comes in and says that there's an emergency: someone set fire to the Hunter's Guildhouse.
  • Maelle downs the rest of the wine, leaves some money and then runs as fast as she can.
  • Vituska: Need a handkerchief? Sadly my own is a bit bloodstained today. I had to kill one man because your friend Mr. Dubois doesn't know what “don't speak” means.
  • Vituska: In fact, I promised him that I would kill you if he did not do exactly as instructed, and then he went and did exactly the thing I told him not to do.
  • Vituska: That puts me in a bit of a bind you know, because I'd rather not kill a young girl. well, unless she's a deviant, but on the other hand… I gave my word.
  • Vituska: Ah, here it is; hope you don't mind… Ferret, I think his name was… blood.
  • The asshole crouches next to Gaia and uses a clean part of his handkerchief to wipe her eyes carefully.
  • Vituska: You are a brave little thing, aren't you? It is a pity that you were not raised right; you would have become quite a fierce woman, and raised a lot of strong kids. Alas…
  • Vituska: Fancy meeting you here, Mr. Dubois.
  • Clark: (high as a kite) Hoo heyy its the terrorist. I see you tied my up in some sort of bed. Sorry but I'm not into dudes.
  • Vituska: So, Mr. Dubois; what part of not contacting Miss Sevel did you not understand?
  • Clark: (in a trip) I didn't fiu; I had bus'ness at the guild house before receiving your invitation.
  • Vituska: Mr. Dubois. I'm not Rigasian. I don't care about the letter of the instructions; you either do what I want or you are correspondingly punished.
  • Clark: (still very high) I might die yes, but you wouldn't obtain [my gift], you will lose it.
  • Vituska: But that suits me perfectly well, because that way I'm going to kill the asshole who dared mark me in the most painful way that I can imagine.
  • Clark: It… decided itself where to go.
  • Vituska: Do you hear me? I am going to hurt you until you break you little asshole.
  • Clark: Hurting me and killing me is maybe not the worst.
  • Amanda: These are the men that were looking at you.
  • Gaia: Yeah sorry for not believing you.
  • Amanda nuzzles gaia again.
  • Gaia: I love you Amanda.
  • Antoine Motyl: It's important to make people understand that feeling guilt in a national level for the events of the past is unhealthy. We must move forward as a country and leave behind the sins of our predecessors; it's now a new generation and it must work forward unburdened by past tragedies.
  • Clark: (tripping balls) Hello, who are you?
  • Riung: We probably haven't met by your time, yes. I am Riung.
  • Riung: Since the first time the world broke, time has been a lot more malleable than people think, so this kind of conversation tends to happen
  • Clark: How long will I be staying here?
  • Riung: That I don't know. Or more specifically, I know of many possible ways your future could go: you could go in the next instant, or you could remain here forever, after your body expires… time is a very wide thing.
  • Riung: In fact all those things will happen, just not in the same places. And those things happening or not is what determines what a place is.
  • Clark: Do you know how I can get a cure for my issue?
  • Riung: You end finding a cure in most cases, but you have to go through it, not avoid it.
  • Riung: I gave a very small push, so you'll have help soon.
  • A car almost runs Maelle over, and Iorena Sevel steps out of the driver's seat in war mode.
  • Iorena: What the fuck has happened.
  • You want to do a sneak attack with drapes? I love it.
  • Vituska was turning to go downstairs when suddenly Gaia used the drapes to bind him and catch his sword; the guy ended in the floor and the sword on Gaia's hands.
  • Vituska gets punched in the stomach by Maelle and nicked in the face by Iorena, so he panics and tries to do the windshred thing literally next to his own face: both him and Iorena are hit.
  • Vituska falls to the floor, full of metal: both lead and iron.
  • Kort approaches you, then stops, goes to the coffee machine on the side of the room, and gets the strongest shit it can produce, then comes to you again.
  • Kort: I really hope [Iorena] manages to get out of this alive and healthy because frankly if we lose her the average intelligence of the team I'm working on will go down a lot.

Trivia

Rose was setting up a new Minecraft server.

The amount of happiness generated when Vituska was killed could have powered the AC units of an entire city block for a week. We need to find a way to bottle that.

There's no actual way to make a person unable to use their gift: no drugs that bring a person to “normal” and no collars/cuffs capable of blocking it; what can be done is pump people so full of relaxants that they become unable to focus on anything, be it their fingers or their gift. Continuous use of this will usually kill someone because of liver failure in a matter of weeks at best, though.
