Session 7

This session was played on 13/08/2025. It was a “resting” session after the insanity that was the previous one, where the players were given space to breathe.

Plot

Clark, Gaia and Maelle wake up in the hospital waiting room, where they fell asleep at the end of the last session; while Clark and Maelle decide to grab a meal from the cafeteria, Gaia sneaks the way to Iorena's room.

In the cafeteria, Clark and Maelle have a heart-to-heart comparing the suckitude of their respective upbringings, and then Clark mentions to Maelle the vision of Riung he had while drugged in captivity.

Gaia manages to enter Iorena's room and finds Iorena very and a bit loopy because of the painkillers. The reunion is quite emotional, and during it Iorena reveals that there was once a young hunter she trained who was radicalized by Vituska, then taken and killed so Vituska could take his gift.

While Maelle tries to make heads or tails of what Clark's vision might mean, Gaia takes Clark back to the Hunters Guildhouse where they meet Stray Pyotr and Eliza Baron, then retrieve Amanda who was still sleeping in Iorena's office.

Maelle asks Yumiko what the hallucinogens that they injected Clark could have been, so Yumiko requests a set of blood and urine tests for Clark, and Maelle grabs him, then she also grabs Gaia and Amanda because she's not sure if the squirrel has been tested for rabies or not.

Yumiko's tests reveal that the only thing Clark had been injected with were relaxants, and there's nothing to justify him having any kind of hallucination.

In the Pole Land, Gaia does some more testing of the Glove under Clark's watch. She learns that something has changed in Clark (he has grown in some way that's not height, breadth, or depth). She also asks Amanda about world breakers and Riung and she mentions that once World Breakers had an empire on “this corner of the weave” and that she doesn't know anyone named Riung. Yet.

Maelle and Yumiko try make a family day out of cleaning Meiyo but Maelle ends breaking up over the bloodied sword and babbles to Yumiko everything she has done with it, both the killing of a rigasian soldier who was trying to hunt Maal (that Yumiko did not know about) and the killing of Vituska (that she did). Yumiko is understandably freaked out but manages to keep her composure and give Maelle some much needed support.

Quotes

  • Let's start this session with a small heap of very tired characters who fell asleep in the hospital waiting room.
  • Gaia: I can replace Iorena temporarily.
  • Yumiko: I'm afraid that what we need is a legal adult to notify, sweetie.
  • Gaia: Oh, no. Paperwork.
  • Receptionist: Are you Ms. Sevel family?
  • Gaia: Yes, I wanted to visit my mom.
  • Maelle: Does Gaia usually do this?
  • Clark: Yea, she sometimes… does her thing.
  • Maelle: (talking about the village Clark grew up in) Hard but nice?
  • Clark: I can assure you, it wasn't good living there, they hated anything different, or what they considered “weird”. Simply being left handed was cause for exclusion.
  • Maelle: Ah.
  • Maelle: Where I grew up… god the amount of blackcaps there… as much as I hate rigasia it's better that theyre out of the picture. They couldve done it without the bomb though.
  • Gaia: Hey Iorena I think that Glorp and Slorp dont like you because they didint follow me to you room.
  • You enter Iorena's room, say that and then slowly shut up because fuck: Iorena is in the bed, and most of her face is wrapped up, her right eye totally covered. Through the gaps on the bandages on the other side you can see she's quite pale.
  • Iorena: Gaia? Izzat you?
  • Iorena: I think I'll have to wear an eyepatch now. Is that cool? I still don't know what that means.
  • Iorena: [Johann] was here years before you. Young kid. Short. Very blond hair… and so angry. so, so angry with the rigasians. He wanted them to hurt so bad, and then Vituska started talking with him. He got even angrier, and would talk about how things used to be better… He told me that a woman could not understand it, and left. And a year later, he was gone, and Vituska had his gift.
  • Maelle: I need to ask… How realistic can drug trips be? It's important for a bit of research.
  • Yumiko: Maelle, have you been doing drugs?
  • And then Maelle comes in asking Clark to pee in a cup.
  • Gaia: Are you going to drink it? Or is that for Vituska's grave?
  • Maelle: That squirrel has been tested for rabies, right?
  • Gaia: Yes, they're positive. I'm positive too, it's important to stay positive in these challenging times.
  • …as for Gaia versus Yumiko, that was an epic confrontation where Yumiko channeled her asian grandma powers and actually managed to argue Gaia down by making her feel bad: “what would your mother (Iorena) think?”
  • Amanda: Did you notice that the white-strip-hair human grew up? Not upwards. Or sideways. The side-side-ways
  • Clark: (talking about trophies) My best one was a white deer, with some huge horns.
  • Gaia: This is the bulleted eye from our first hunt, this is the hat from Vituska's encounter, this is ferret's hair, this is a really cool shiny stone.
  • Clark: Do you mind if I spit on that hat?
  • Gaia: Hey Amanda, do you know who Riung is?
  • AMANDA: NO, I HAVE NEVER HEARD OF SUCH A PERSON
  • And then you hear from very far:
  • AMANDA: YET.
  • Clark: Damn, I would make a killing with a couple rope traps here. Better no, though, bet they are all Gaia's pets.
  • AMANDA: THERE WAS ONCE AN EMPIRE THAT RULED THIS CORNER OF THE WEAVE. THEY FAILED, AND HAVE FELL SO LOW. BUT THEIR WEAVES REMAIN. THEIR BLOOD REMAINS. AND THAT'S HOW YOU HAVE COME TO SEE ME. THEIRS IS NOT THE OLDEST WEAVE, THOUGH, BUT THE NEWEST.
  • Maelle: I don't want to kill.
  • Yumiko: Then do not kill. If you need to fight, fight to capture, fight to incapacitate, leave fighting to others. I won't say that you will never have to kill, because sometimes, like with the Vituska man, there might be no better solution, but there are many things that you can do before killing.

Trivia

Rose was asking about email providers.

We're 2/3 for characters had to actually face the fact that they killed someone. We're very proud of actually handling that.
