Power

This page is not about abilities granted by a Weave; those are commonly called Gifts.

A Power (Power that Be, Power in Charge) is a blanket term to refer to beings so absurdly big that humans might as well be ants to them.

Umichooans tend to refer to these as Zuní in the case of beings from inside reality and Hyuní for the really scary things that operate on a higher level.

Zuní

Zuní are so vast, complex and powerful that they might as well be considered gods for most people, but they are still creatures that exist in reality, so they are limited by reality's rules such as conservation of energy, and entropy.

Some known Zuní are:

  • The Giver of Shapes, who supposedly is a percentage of the mass of our multiverse.
  • The Dragons, that is a blanket term for entities whose size goes from planetary to galactic, and many of whom might have been spawned or built by the Giver of Shapes
  • The Dream Queens, that exist in most suns in our multiverse and maintain the Great Dream
  • The Renegade Queen, who was supposedly a dream queen who left with some dragons to do their own thing.
  • The Unmaker, who was supposedly involved in the Renegade Queen leaving.

Hyuní

Imagine reality is nothing but a charcoal drawing on a sheet of paper; hyuní is the charcoal stick, and the paper; it's the hand that paints, and the mold growing on the paper; and it's that one cat leaving footprints on the drawing when no one is looking.

As far as we know, none have been actually seen around in the entire history of human civilization, but the children of the Giver of Shapes talk of some:

  • The Master Cog of the Perfect World, who plays with multiverses as if it was a game of Civilization
  • The Wanderer, who plays with multiverses as if it was a cat playing with some fragile glass thing.
  • The Clockmaker, who seems to be the source of the Rigasian version of Π Cells.
